About Revise

From dusty grooves to digital 1s and 2s, DJ Revise has maintained a high-fidelity sound for over two decades in Honolulu. A dedicated turntablist, promoter, and audio engineer, his sets reflect deep roots in hip-hop culture, technical precision, and a fearless approach to mixing.

What started as a passion for B-boying evolved into a career behind the decks. Since first emerging in Honolulu’s hip-hop scene in 1999, Revise has made his mark DJing for local crew Triangular Prism, throwing shows, and turning up late-night staples like Pango Pango. He’s opened for legends like Nas, DJ Rhettmatic, Illa J, Gift of Gab, and Dumbfounded, and has held residencies at underground haunts like NextDoor and stylish lounges like The Laylow Waikiki.

In 2016, Revise joined the At the Ave Tour with Battle Ave and DJ City, performing alongside elite turntablists like DJ Manwell, IFTW, and Dstrukt across cities like Austin, Vegas, and LA. The ATA Mixtape series, pushed to CD by demand—captured the tour’s raw energy and cemented his status as a dynamic performer.

Behind the scenes, he runs REVISESOUND, a mobile sound and lighting company trusted by boutique hotels, global brands, and world-class DJs like Z-Trip and Fourcolorzack. His attention to detail and sonic integrity translate across weddings, club nights, and corporate events alike.

In 2024, he helped coordinate and host the first DMC Open Cypher in Honolulu, a historic milestone for the local DJ community. As head of the Battle Ave Honolulu Chapter, he continues to support the next generation of turntablists and producers.

Currently, DJ Revise holds down a monthly residency at Bar 35 every second Friday and recently co-founded Workroom—a creative studio and cultural hub on Oʻahu for DJs, dancers, and multimedia artists.

From the club to the classroom, the booth to the block—DJ Revise stays live and direct, pushing the culture forward with every cut.
