From dusty grooves to digital 1s and 2s, DJ Revise has maintained a high-fidelity sound throughout his music career.

Fads and styles quickly fade, yet DJ Revise has kept the art of turntablism fresh and alive in Honolulu for the last 20 years. Promoter, audio engineer, and owner of lifestyle brand About The Goods, anything DJ Revise does is best experienced live and direct. As a B-boy who fell in love with musical routines, he organically shifted his focus from dancing to battling on the decks.

Possessing a tight rhythmic sensibility, DJ Revise began honing his skills in the Honolulu hip-hop scene in 1999. Upon arriving in Hawaiʻi he swiftly started promoting shows, DJing for local hip-hop crew Triangular Prism, and turning up at late-night venues like Pango Pango (now known as Ginza Night Club). Revise has opened for legends like Nas, DJ Rhettmatic, Illa J, Gift of Gab, and Dumbfounded to name a few. His mixing prowess and uninhibited DJ style has made him the go-to-resident at underground clubs like NextDoor, and upscale lounges like the Hideout at The Laylow Waikiki.

In 2016, he toured the country with renowned turntablism record label Battle Ave and DJ-City for the open-format At the Ave Tour alongside a list of contemporaries including DJ Manwell, IFTW, and Dstrukt. Together they played to packed venues in Austin, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and beyond catapulting him into a whole new category as a performer. By demand the At the Ave (ATA) Mixtape series created for the ATA tour was pushed to CD. To this day, he’s one of the most active nightlife DJs on the Honolulu scene.

An audio tech by nature and necessity, Revise has been simultaneously operating REVISESOUND, a fully equipped mobile sound and lighting business bringing the same quality and clinical precision of club DJing to all types of events ranging from weddings to corporate parties. Clientele include boutique hotels, international brands, and touring DJs like Lowdown Loretta Brown, Fourcolorzack, Z-Trip and more.

With backing from sponsors like Mixars and Serato, DJ Revise remains humble and in tune with the local music scene. Heading the Battle Ave Honolulu Chapter, he shares his knowledge with up-and-coming turntablist and producers elevating the hip-hop culture of Hawaiʻi. DJ Revise can be found around the city four nights a week, from Motown on Mondays at The Manifest in historic Chinatown to The Weekend at The Laylow Waikiki.
